Meet Gail Ellison! Mark and I were walking to the car after dropping off Connor at baseball camp and she spotted Mark in his TRI T-shirt. She was so excited to see it that she stopped us for a chat. Gail's sister lives in Vernal and raced in the Tri the day Mark did. She told us that her family has been trying to stay fit and they started e-mailing each other to motivate the family. One thing led to another and now a lot of the family enters TRI races. She and her sister are currently getting ready for the one in St. George on August 19th. True to her word, I was stopped at a red light the very next day and who of all people sped by on a bike...yep...Gail and her sister. They dropped her son off at baseball camp, unloaded the bikes off the car right there in the parking lot and took off. I honked at them and waved!
Gail's enthusiasum was very catchy! She and her sister were so much fun to chat with. I wish them lots of luck on their upcoming TRI and hope that I can make it to one in the near future that they'll be at. I'll be looking for them!
By the way, they gave us some great web-sites to go to if you want to find any kind of race event...big or small. I posted them on our blog as links so go check them out. The next TRI in St. George is in the spring. Let's get moving!!
