Progress not Perfection!

Mark coming out to Utah for the Triathlon was very motivating for me. He looked half his age! He looked like he did when we went to the Prom together back in 1990!! Well, if Mark can do it, then anyone can, right? (Wrong. It's Mark we are talking about here...)

With Mark's whole new look, I came to the conclusion that it is time to get my FAT BUTT off the couch and do something about it!! Unfortunately, it is so much easier putting on the weight than losing it. As long as I am making PROGRESS, that is all that matters. So here are a few of the things I am working on:

First, MOVE MORE. I decided that I am not going to be an instant runner, so for now I am walking, with a few moments of running here and there. I am trying to be more active in other ways; parking far away from the store so I have to walk more, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and working outside in the garden.

And second, WATCH WHAT I EAT AND HOW I EAT IT. Stace showed me a website (livestrong daily plate) and I have been inputting my daily meals. Man do those calories add up fast! My other issue is I tend to eat way too fast. I am trying to slow it down so I know when I get full.

This is just my start. I'll keep you posted on my PROGRESS!
